All-new Porsche 911 GT3 RS in the works – Juiced-up track weapon to debut on 17 August

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be making its world premiere on August 17, 2022. Soon to be topping the 911 range in terms of performance, it seems the 911 GT3 RS will be the more extreme bigger brother to the 911 GT3.

According to Porsche, the development of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has been inspired by the successful Porsche 911 RSR and Porsche 911 GT3 R GT racing cars.

For context, this is what the regular GT3 did around the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Porsche’s GT Model Line Director, Andreas Preuninger said, “The new 911 GT3 RS is even more optimised for track use than its predecessors. The spontaneously responsive, high-revving four-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine with approximately 500 PS has proven ideal for use at trackdays and club sport events. That’s why we focused primarily on aerodynamics and chassis questions in the development of the new 911 GT3 RS.”

Porsche 911 GTR (Not the RS)

Currently, the PDK-equipped Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a 3,996-cc naturally-aspirated flat-6 engine that produces 510 hp of maximum power and 470 Nm of torque. With that powertrain, 0-100 km/h is achieved in 3.4 seconds, onward to 200 km/h in 10.8 seconds. With the 911 GT3 RS, more extreme figures are to be expected.

For those of you excited about the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the digital broadcast is slated for August 17, and can be found in the link here. And as an extra surprise, we also have a very, very special video coming soon, potentially related to the GT3 RS! Keep your eyes peeled.
