Bermaz Motor has introduced the updated 2021 Mazda CX-9 with prices starting from RM319,847 for the front-wheel drive and RM336,215 for the all-wheel drive (AWD) models.
The fully imported CBU CX-9 are subject to the 50% sales tax exemption, valid till the end of 2021. They come with 5-years/100,000 km warranty and 5-years free maintenance.
Both the front-wheel-drive and AWD variants of the CX-9 are powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with 228 hp and 350 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, with newly added paddle shifters.

The updated 2021 CX-9 is introduced as the Ignite Edition and that includes gloss black finishing on the front grille, side mirrors, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Design-wise, nothing has changed.
As for features, automatic LED headlamps are a given, with a sunroof, keyless entry and powered tailgate included. Its size will be no obstacle in the parking lot with eight parking sensors – four each in the front and back.
Moving inside, the CX-9 features a 9-inch infotainment display with Android Auto as per last year’s update along with the Mazda MX-5. The new addition here is the Apple CarPlay function, finally.
The list of equipment onboard includes a coloured head-up display, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and tri-zone air conditioning.
Safety and driver aids include six airbags, Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus, Off-road Traction Assist, hill-start assist, and i-ActivSense driver assistance system. It consists of features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and autonomous braking for front and rear.
