Nissan puts their Navara pick-ups to work for a good cause

With the lockdown still somewhat in effect, it’s coming to nearly three months since any of us from the industry received a test unit from any car maker. Instead of leaving them to collect dust, Nissan has been putting them to good use.

Aside from giving out donations, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM)’s employees have also been distributing food and other necessities as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR). Their efforts were supported by a few Nissan Navara pick-ups including a single cab unit and the more decorated Navara Pro-4X we borrowed before the lockdown.

The trucks were used to transport and distribute daily necessities and supplies such as rice, sugar, eggs, and more.

Sales and Marketing Director, Mr Christopher Tan added, “It is very heartwarming to see colleagues coming together to support the community in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like to thank everyone for their effort, and the Company is committed to support future initiatives of such”.

Employees of ETCM were equally as enthusiastic to the aid and grateful for the opportunity to help those who’ve been less fortunate.

“I’m glad that the company has a platform for us to do something meaningful for those in need. We believe that every bit counts and we hope that this contribution can help make a difference to them. The initiative will not stop here as we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of more people in other areas,” said ETCM employee, Mr. Ridwan Hanif bin Zainal.

In other Nissan-related news, Edaran Tan Chong is currently offering Malaysia Day promotions where the highest-spec Nissan Almera 1.0 VLT can be yours for just RM680 a month and the facelift Nissan Navara 2.5V at RM1,040 a month through the Flexi Financing plan.

Recently, Nissan also announced a competition to challenge owners of the all-new Almera to get the most mileage out of their cars. The Almera’s fuel economy will be measured in “KM/L”, converted from L/100km as display in the car. Nissan will be donating RM1 per kilometre to charity.

The Top 20 entries with the best average fuel economy will receive a Nissan GT-R by lego. The promo ends on the 31st of September 2021.
