BMW iX3 launched in Singapore, priced even cheaper than the entry-level petrol variant!

Following its regional debut in Thailand, the fully-electric BMW iX3 has now also made its way to Singapore. Available in a single ‘Impressive’ variant, the BMW iX3 will be fully-imported from China, priced at SGD252,888 (~RM785k) inclusive of COE.

The pricing is surprisingly even more affordable than the cheapest petrol-powered BMW X3 you can buy in Singapore, the sDrive20i. This is due to the fully-electric model being classified under the A1 banding in the country’s Vehicular Emission Scheme (VES), which benefits from a higher VES rebate.

In terms of specification, the BMW iX3 in Singapore is largely similar to the variant launched in Thailand. Power is provided by a 286 hp / 400 Nm electric motor mounted on the rear axle, which takes the fully-electric SUV from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, onward to an electronically-limited top speed of 180 km/h.

The electric motor is juiced by a 80 kWh 400-volt battery pack underneath the floor, which provides the BMW iX3 a range of 459 km from a single charge (WLTP cycle).

Charging the battery from 0-80% takes 34 minutes at a 150 kW DC fast charging station, but for home users, an 11 kW three-phase AC charger takes approximately 7.5 hours to fully charger the car. A BMW i Wallbox Plus (with basic installation) comes as standard when you buy the BMW iX3 in Singapore.

BMW iX3 owners in Singapore will also get access to the ChargeNow charging network, with 95 public charging points and 125 other charging points in condominiums now available in the island nation.

As for equipment, The BMW iX3 in the Impressive trim comes as standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, alongside adaptive LED headlights, panoramic glass sunroof, and a hands-free Comfort Access automatic tailgate.

In related news, BMW Malaysia recently teased the BMW iX on its website. Does that mean it’s coming to our country soon?

Moving inside, the BMW iX3 Impressive in Singapore gets the BMW Live Cockpit Professional digital instrument cluster and infotainment display combo, alongside a head-up display, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Vernasca leather upholstery, three-zone climate control, Driving Assistant Professional, and Parking Assistant Plus.
