Honda marks 15 million units sold in China

After more than 20 years since Honda sold their first vehicle in China back in 1999, the company has reached an incredible milestone of 15 million vehicles sold – the fastest in terms of automotive sales for Honda in any region.

Honda operates in China via Guangzhou Honda Automobile (GAC Honda) and Dongfeng Honda Automobile. Together, cumulative Honda vehicle sales in China reached 1 million units by 2006.

While it took Honda nearly a decade to reach 10 million units sold in 2018, it only took them just three years to hit the 15 million mark. Moreover, since hybrid vehicle sales began in China in 2016 with the Accord Sport Hybrid i-MMD, Honda has sold over 500,000 units to date.

GAC Honda Automobile produces models such as the Vezel, Breeze, Fit, Accord, and the Crider, while the XR-V, CR-V Civic, Inspire, and Elysion models are manufactured by Dongfeng Honda Automobile.
