Hyundai introduces Extended Warranty Programme for older models – RM1,280 per year

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) today launched a new Extended Warranty Programme for selected older models, which are the AD and MD Elantra, LF Sonata, TL and LM Tucson, DM Santa Fe, and TQ Starex.

To be eligible for the programme, the cars must have an expired manufacturer’s warranty, not older than eight years from the manufacturing date, mileage of under 300,000 km on the fifth year from the car’s purchase date, and a good service record with Hyundai authorised service centres.

Designed to offer Hyundai customers extra peace of mind while they keep their vehicles beyond five years, HSDM says that the programme will function just like a new car’s warranty, but will be subjected to yearly renewal, and will only cover mileage of no more than 30,000 km per year.

The new Extended Warranty Programme will cost RM1,280 per year, and will cover internal and primary components of the engine, transmission system, motoring, modular parts of the vehicle, as well as other electrical components.

It also includes complimentary repairs and part replacements. The limit per claim is set at RM10,000, although items that have been claimed beforehand can be claimed again (up to RM50,000 total aggregate), should they be proven faulty.

“Most extended warranty programmes by a car brand are offered by premium and luxury car brands, but we are offering this programme for Hyundai cars as we are confident of the quality of our vehicles, and we want to help our customers maintain their cars longer with peace of mind,” said HSDM Managing Director, Low Yuan Lung.

The programme is currently only available at all Sime Darby Auto Hyundai (SDAH) outlets, but will soon be extended to other Hyundai authorised service centres nationwide. Customers can contact HSDM at 1300-13-2000 or log on to www.hyundai.com.my for more info.
