This might be the prettiest colour we’ve ever seen on the Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra RZ Horizon Blue edition is just proof that the Japanese get the all the good stuff – first the Tomica Toyota Supra toy in McDonalds Happy Meals, and now this. A little over one year since its introduction, Toyota has now introduced the updated A91 Supra in Japan, offered in this absolutely stunning Horizion Blue shade.

Just like the updated model launched in the U.S. market earlier, the new Supra gets a 14% boost in power to its 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six engine, now producing 387 hp. Torque figures remain identical to its predecessor, but the peak torque band has been widened, with 500 Nm of twist now available all the way up to 5,000 rpm.

As a result, Toyota says the updated Supra can now do the century sprint in just 3.9 seconds, compared to 4.1 seconds from before. Aside to the updated powertrain, Toyota has also re-tuned the suspension set-up, along with new braces at the front end to improve stability during high-speed cornering.

The updated Toyota GR Supra is available in seven external colours, including the limited-edition Storm Gray Metallic, limited to 27 units, and Horizon Blue, 100 units.

Opting for the Horizon Blue edition will also net you a set of exclusive 19-inch forged aluminium wheel finished in matte black, along with blue stitching on the Alcantara seats, instrument panels, door trims and steering wheel.

It’s probably going to be a little while before the updated A91 Supra makes its appearance on our soil. If you absolutely cannot wait to check it out, you’d be pleased to know that the updated Toyota Supra RZ – in the Horizon Blue paint job no less – is now available in Gran Turismo Sport.
