Nissan recall campaign: If you haven’t checked, please do so

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM), the official distributor of Nissan vehicles in Malaysia, would like to remind owners to send their vehicles that may be affected by product recalls to authorised services centres to have them checked over.

The various recall campaigns cover models ranging from the first generation T30 X-Trail SUV and N16 Sentra sedan manufactured way back in 2000, to the C26 Serena S-Hybrid produced as recently as in 2016.

While most of the models require a change of airbag inflators made by Takata, there’s also the issue of back door stays which may malfunctions in more recent models such as the Serena, X-Trail and NV200.

Parts and labour charges incurred due to product recalls are entirely complimentary, the recall campaigns also cover vehicles that are no longer under warranty.

To check if your Nissan is part of a product recall, have your VIN or chassis number ready and log on to http://servicecampaign.nissan.com.my/, you can also book a service appointment on your mobile via Tan Chong’s DriveOn app.
