Aside from introducing the new 3008 with updated driver aids, Peugeot Malaysia also took to stage the new and improved 5008 7-seater SUV. The 5008 Active goes for RM166,888 while the higher spec Allure goes for RM179,888.
Like the 3008 SUV Allure Plus, it also gets additional driver aids like Speed Limit Information, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Monitor and Driver Attention Alert.
Underneath the hood of the 5008 is the same 1.6-litre twin-scroll Turbo High Pressure Engine with 167 hp and 240 Nm. The engine is similarly paired to a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. 0 to 100 km/h still take 8.9 seconds with top speed rated at 205 km/h.
It also gets added features like a panoramic roof and hands-free tailgate to add to the LED lighting fixtures in the front which includes the turn indicators as well.
Standard items include 18-inch Detroit alloy rims, automatic headlights, automatic folding side mirrors with heater and a 180-degree reverse camera.
The 7-seater also gets the same Black Claudio leather upholstery that’s seen in the updated 3008. Specifically for the 5008 Allure Plus model are features such as 8-way power adjustable seats with memory function, auto dimming rear view mirror, LED mood lighting and while the 3008 may be added with one-touch folding rear seats, they’re standard in the 5008.
The 5008 shares the same on-board equipment as the 3008 such as the 12.3-inch instrument cluster display and 8-inch touchscreen display.
Safety wise, the 5008 gets six airbags, Hill Descent Control, Dynamic Stability Control and Electronic Stability Program among others. As for colour selections, the 5008 is available in Emerald Crystal, Amazonite Gray, Nera Black, Pearl White and Aster Grey.
