Nearly after a year since taking over Peugeot’s sole distributorship here in Malaysia, Bermaz Auto Alliance has finally unveiled their first model(s) – and what a way to make an entrance with the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008 facelift.

The French duo was given a significant redesign as part of its facelift exercise, featuring a completely new front fascia headlined by the “borderless grille” design, with the “grille” spanning across the entire width of the car – and we can’t stop staring at it!

Another key focus on this facelift is the exterior lighting fixtures – the headlights now get the brand’s signature “lion fangs” daytime-running lights (which also doubles as the turn indicators), while the tail lamps were reworked with a new three-dimensional claw light signature and sequential turn indicators.

Aside from the exterior, the new Peugeot 3008 and 5008’s cabin has also been spruced up slightly, featuring a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment display with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, alongside a new Qi wireless charging pad – both valuable additions in our increasingly mobile phone-reliant world.

The powertrain underneath the bonnet of both cars are unchanged from the pre-facelift model – both powered by the 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engines with 165 hp and 240 Nm on tap. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox.

So it looks good, but one question remains – how does it drive? Join us in the video above on our drive up to Genting to find out!
