UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT), the official distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia, has just announced a Special Service Campaign (SSC) involving 6,160 units of the Toyota Prius 1.8 Hybrid to update the software of the hybrid system.
Prius 1.8 Hybrid models manufactured and distributed by UMWT between 2009 to 2013 is involved in this recall campaign. Affected vehicle owners will be notified to bring their car in to update the ECU programming. The repair process will take approximately one hour. Like all SSCs, all costs related to the repair will be borne by UMWT.
