BMW Group Malaysia sales up by 11% in 1H 2018, MINI up by 18%



At the unveiling of the BMW Concept X7 iPerformance, BMW Group Malaysia also took the opportunity to share their sales performance of the first half of 2018. The company is keeping up its momentum and recorded a growth of 11 per cent.

In the first six months of 2018, the company delivered over 6,400 vehicles to BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad owners. BMW alone makes up over 5,300 of those sales numbers, 11 per cent up from the same period last year. MINI’s sales were up 18 per cent with over 550 new cars delivered while BMW Motorrad sold over 540 units in the 1H of 2018.

BMW Group Malaysia’s portfolio of plug-in hybrid vehicles remains the company’s strongest sales driver with 56 per cent of the total vehicle delivers made up of the BMW 330e, 530e, 740Le, X5 xDrive40e and Countryman PHEV.

On the global front, BMW Group recorded a 35th consecutive quarterly sales growth with its best-ever first-half-year sales with a total of 1,242,507 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles delivered to customers. BMW Group is also the global leader in premium electrified mobility with year-to-date delivers of electrified vehicles amounting to 60,660 units.
