BMW Group Malaysia sales up by 15% in Q1 2018, 3,000 vehicles delivered



BMW Group Malaysia recorded a strong 15 per cent growth in sales in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period last year, delivering 3,000 vehicles across BMW, MINI and Motorrad brands.

Over 2,500 new BMW vehicles were delivered to customers in Q1 of 2018 compared to 2,100 cars in 2017, charting an 18 per cent growth. BMW X models were the strongest growth driver for the brand, enjoying a significant 39 per cent growth in the first quarter of the year. The X5 proved to be the most popular model, but BMW is set to bolster the healthy trend with the first-ever X2 and all-new X3.

The MINI brand, on the other hand, saw 220 deliveries in the first three months of 2018, 6 per cent up from the same period last year. BMW Motorrard closed Q1 2018 with 260 motorcycles delivered to customers.

Moving forward, BMW Group Malaysia is committed to grow its investments in Malaysia to continue to develop Malaysia as a hub for BMW Group in South East Asia. In 2017, the group opened its doors to the new BMW Regional Parts Distribution Centre in Senai, Johor that supports after sales operations of 23 countries.
