VinFast to debut first SUV & sedan at Paris, Vietnam sales to start in 2019

Vietnam’s first car company, VinFast, has revealed plans to introduce an SUV and a sedan at the upcoming 2018 Paris Motor Show. VinFast decided on these two body styles after the Vietnamese people voted on their favourite design late last year.

The yet-to-be-named SUV and sedan are developed by Italian design house, Pininfarina and will adopt German technologies to meet international standards. The company intends to have their sold outside of Vietnam and become a competitive player in the global automotive scene.

Details of the Vietnamese built cars are scarce but VinFast is confident in creating vehicles that are up to customer expectations in terms of design, quality, dynamics, premium in-car features and ownership experience. To achieve this global vision, the company has engaged leading European designers, engineers and production technology partners.

Construction of an ultra-modern manufacturing facility is currently underway in Hai Phong, northern Vietnam to manufacture VinFast badged cars in anticipation of the start of sales in September 2019. With a built-up area of 2.5 acres, the VinFast manufacturing plant is one of Vietnam’s biggest industrial project yet.

Will this be the family face of VinFast cars?

CEO of VinFast Trading and Production LLC, James DeLuca said: “We are immensely proud to be the first volume automotive manufacturer in Vietnam, and the first to participate in a major international motor show. We look forward to introducing our new brand and two new models in Paris. Our show stand will also prominently feature the best of Vietnam, demonstrating the passion and tenacity that we will bring to the global automotive stage.”
