Dongfeng to preview three new models at KLIMS 2026 – MHero II, Voyah Dream, and 008 making first appearances

The official Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) Facebook page has shared a video, offering a sneak peek at what to expect from Dongfeng at the upcoming event. The video revealed that the company will preview three new models — the Dongfeng MHero II, Voyah Dream, and 008 — all making their first appearances in the country.

Starting things off is the Dongfeng MHero II, known as the M817 in China. As its name suggests, this is a rugged, off-road-inspired SUV that leans heavily into a bold and commanding design.

In terms of size, it measures 5,100 mm long, 1,998 mm wide, and 1,899 mm tall, with a 3,005 mm wheelbase — placing it firmly in the full-size SUV segment. The car measures slightly larger than models like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE, while likely positioning itself as a rival to upcoming models such as the Denza B8.

Powering the MHero II is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup, consisting of a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with electric motors, delivering a combined output of 687 hp and 848 Nm. With a 50.4 kWh battery, it is capable of up to 215 km of electric-only range (CLTC), while total combined range is rated at up to 1,365 km.

Next up is the Voyah Dream, another luxury NEV MPV that continues to ride on the growing popularity of high-end people movers. It measures 5,315 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a generous 3,200 mm wheelbase — sizing up with rivals such as the Denza D9, Zeekr 009, and Xpeng X9.

In China, the Voyah Dream is offered in both fully electric (EV) and PHEV forms. The PHEV variant features an 800V architecture paired with a 62.5 kWh battery, enabling up to 350 km of electric-only range and a combined range of up to 1,530 km (CLTC). Total system output stands at an impressive 653 hp and 915 Nm, courtesy of a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine working alongside dual electric motors.

Meanwhile, the fully electric version is equipped with a larger 108.7 kWh battery, powering dual motors with a combined output of 551 hp, delivering a claimed range of up to 700 km (CLTC).

Rounding things off is the Dongfeng 008. While the brand already offers the 007 as a D-segment flagship EV sedan, the 008 follows up on that “flagship” positioning, this time in the form of a more composed and premium SUV — in contrast to the more rugged MHero II.

Available as either a five- or six-seater in China, the 008 measures 5,002 mm long, 1,972 mm wide, and 1,732 mm tall, with a 3,025 mm wheelbase. This places it right alongside models like the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE in terms of size and positioning.

The 008 is offered as both a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) and a fully electric model. The REEV variant features a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine acting purely as a generator, paired with a 34.32 kWh battery that powers a rear-mounted electric motor producing 272 hp and 340 Nm. Combined range is rated at up to 1,300 km (CLTC).For those opting for the fully electric version, the same rear motor is paired with a larger 82.28 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of up to 636 km (CLTC).

While these models are not yet confirmed for launch in Malaysia, seeing them in the flesh should offer a better idea of what they bring to the table — likely with a strong focus on attainable luxury. KLIMS will take place at MITEC from 12 to 21 June, so be sure to drop by and check them out.
