2026 Kia Carnival now available with new 8-seater variant in Malaysia – same equipment as 7-seater, RM239k

Launched late last year with seven- and 11-seater options, Kia Sales Malaysia (KSM) has now introduced a new eight-seater variant of the Kia Carnival facelift, priced at RM238,888 on the road without insurance, and locally assembled (CKD) at the company’s plant at Kulim, Kedah. This makes it RM10,000 more affordable than the flagship seven-seater, which is priced at RM248,888.

Introduced to meet “customer demand”, the new model features a three-row layout in a 2-3-3 configuration. The second-row captain seats have been replaced with a three-seat bench, increasing overall passenger capacity to eight.

Based on the same specifications as the range-topping seven-seater, the new eight-seater carries over most of its equipment unchanged. It rides on the same 19-inch alloy wheels, while the exterior remains largely identical to the rest of the lineup, featuring LED headlights and taillights, daytime running lights, roof rails, and sliding doors.

Inside, you can expect the car to feature dual 12.3-inch screens for the driver instrument cluster and centre infotainment screen — the latter with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Carrying off from the  range-topping variant, the eight-seater benefits from a headsup display, full leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, as well as a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Powering the car is a familiar 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, producing 202 hp and 440 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Despite rising diesel prices, Kia claims the Carnival remains efficient, with a fuel consumption figure of 6.5 litres per 100 km under the more stringent WLTP cycle. This translates to a driving range of up to 900 km on a full tank under the same test cycle.

The Kia Carnival eight-seater is priced at RM238,888 on the road and without insurance. Just like the rest of the lineup, comes with a five-year or 150,000 km warranty. Allong with this, Kia is offering a 1.98% per anum interest rate for up to nine years of financing or RM6,000 worth of fuel credits via TouchNGo eWallet as part of Kia’s ‘We Fuel You’ initiative.
