Toyota is making it easier to fix your old A80 Supra

If you are the lucky owner of a fourth-generation (A80) Toyota Supra with an original dashboard that is already cracked and peeling, there’s good news. Toyota will be reproducing the dashboard for your car, under its GR Heritage Parts Project, with a release slated for this coming autumn.

Toyota states they have modernised the durability of these parts while faithfully maintaining the original embossed grain finish. This ensures the components look identical to the factory dashboard that came with the car when it was new, all those years ago.

The MK IV Supra dashboard is among 300 parts for eight vehicle models being reissued under the GR Heritage Parts Project. This component joins the already-available instrument cluster panel to complete the A80 dashboard. It extends from above the steering wheel across to the far edge of the passenger side.

However, the catch is that these parts will initially only be sold in Japan. There has been no mention of availability for those living outside the Land of the Rising Sun. Then again, perhaps this gives you the perfect excuse to buy the part as a souvenir on your next trip to Japan, provided you can fit a dashboard into your carry-on luggage.

Closer to home, Toyota has officially expanded its local lineup with the launch of three fully electric (EV) models. This new EV range includes the Urban Cruiser starting from RM198,000, the bZ4X from RM220,000, and the Hilux BEV pickup truck, which is priced from RM226,300.
