The Japan Mobility Show 2025 (JMS 2025), set to take place from October 30th to November 9th, 2025, is just two weeks away now. If you happen to be in Tokyo for the event, or have access to the internet like the rest of us, here are 10 cars – concept or not and in no particular order – you should definitely keep an eye out for.
1. Toyota Century concept
Toyota has revealed it will be unveiling three concept cars at JMS 2025, the first of which is a striking Toyota Century Concept. Based on the initial photos, it appears to be a high-riding sedan with a unique design featuring four doors that slide outwards, and an interior that could be configured as a spacious four-seater.
The powertrain remains the biggest question. Will it be powered by a V12, like the third-generation Toyota Century, or a V8, like the current model? Alternatively, could it be a fully-electric (EV) concept? We’ll have to wait for the full unveiling at the show to know for sure.
2. Six-wheeled Lexus concept
Under its luxury division, Lexus, Toyota will be unveiling a radical six-wheeled concept. Visually, it looks like a Lexus LM on six wheels, and its extremely long wheelbase suggests the interior will be incredibly spacious. It remains to be seen what this wild concept MPV will preview, but could it be a signal that Lexus is actually considering building a six-wheeled, uber-luxury MPV?
3. Toyota Corolla Concept
The third model from Toyota set to be unveiled at JMS 2025 is the Corolla Concept, and it looks nothing like the Toyota Corolla we know today. It features a futuristic front fascia with integrated daytime running lights and headlights, while the rear sports a pixelated, full-width taillight. We guess that this is either a preview of the Corolla going fully electric, or a glimpse into the next-generation model’s design.
4. Mazda Vision Model
Mazda will be showcasing its Vision Model concept, a sleek four-door fastback that could be a preview of the next-generation Mazda 3 – the timing certainly fits. The current-generation Mazda 3 first made its global debut in late 2018, making the model seven years old now—right on schedule for a full model replacement.
5. Mitsubishi electrified crossover concept
Mitsubishi will be unveiling an electrified crossover concept SUV at JMS 2025. According to the company, the concept will offer a spacious interior and a “luxurious in-car sleeping environment,” designed to turn any destination into a glamping retreat. The crossover is expected to feature Mitsubishi’s electrified drivetrain and all-wheel-drive system. It will also reportedly come with personalised features, which suggests the interior could be highly configurable.
6. All-new Nissan Elgrand
Nissan is set to unveil the all-new, fourth-generation Elgrand, a rival to the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire. While only a close-up teaser of the MPV’s headlight and front bumper has been released, the new Elgrand will use the company’s third-generation e-Power powertrain. The overall design is expected to draw inspiration from the futuristic Nissan Hyper Tourer Concept.
7. Subaru Performance B-STI Concept
Subaru will have six models on display at JMS 2025, but the main attractions will undoubtedly be the Performance B-STI Concept and the Performance-E STI Concept.
Starting with the Performance B-STI Concept, this model is confirmed to have an internal combustion engine and all-wheel drive. Its aggressive design strongly suggests what many fans have been hoping for: the comeback of the legendary WRX STI for the second-generation WRX.
8. Subaru Performance E-STI Concept
As for the Subaru Performance-E STI Concept, the “E” in its name confirms this will be an all-electric preview of the brand’s next-generation performance. According to Subaru, the concept combines “thrilling aesthetic proportions” with “outstanding aerodynamics and practicality.”
9. Honda 0 Series prototype model
At JMS 2025, Honda will be unveiling a prototype for its all-new 0 series of vehicles. That’s pretty much all the company has officially revealed. However, it is expected to be based on either the saloon or SUV concepts from the series, both of which are known for their retro-futuristic design language and SAE-Level 3 ADAS features that allow for true “eyes off” automated driving.

10. Honda Compact EV prototype
Alongside the 0 Series prototype, Honda will also be unveiling a Compact EV prototype. Just like the 0 Series prototype, Honda has not revealed any photos, leaving its final appearance to speculation for now. Our best guess is that this could either be a successor to the quirky Honda e, or perhaps a fully-electric Kei-car designed for the Japanese domestic market.
