GWM Malaysia has announced that their Haval H6 HEV recently entered the ASEAN Records for the longest single-tank distance, and most verified owners exceeding 1,000 km.
The feats – all achieved in “real-world driving conditions” according to the company – were accomplished as part of a nationwide fuel endurance test, where 38 Haval H6 HEV owners successfully exceeded a driving distance of 1,000 km without refuelling. The most successful participant even recorded a mind-boggling 1,242 km of range in a single tank of fuel.
GWM Malaysia says that this makes the Haval H6 HEV the first hybrid SUV in ASEAN to achieve such a feat, especially through genuine, everyday usage.
“This isn’t just a technical breakthrough, it’s a real-world endorsement of how far the Haval H6 HEV can take Malaysians,” said GWM Malaysia Managing Director, Cui Anqi said. “It reflects the essence of our new direction: to elevate the everyday drive through proven innovation.”

To celebrate this occasion, GWM has also introduced a new tagline for the Haval H6 HEV—“Elevate Your Everyday”, promising uplifted standards of what a modern SUV can deliver.
The GWM Haval H6 HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired to a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) with an integrated motor. Combined, it makes a total system output of 234 hp and 530 Nm that enables a 0-100 km/h time of 7.7 seconds using launch control.
The car features a 1.69 kWh battery that allows the car to automatically switch between electric drive, series hybrid, parallel hybrid, or pure ICE drive modes, depending on the speed and power required from the driver.
The GWM Haval H6 HEV is priced at RM139,800 on-the-road and without insurance. This includes a seven-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty along with a 10-year or 1,000,000 km engine warranty. The HEV system gets an Eight-year or 1,000,000 km warranty covering the Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), High Voltage Battery & Cable, and Transmission Control Unit – the latter two exclusively for the first-hand owner only.
