Xiaomi doesn’t have any export plans for its electric vehicles (EVs) just yet, but you’ll still be able to experience the Nurburgring lap-record-breaking SU7 Ultra very soon… at least in the virtual world.
The electronics giant (and now carmaker) has announced a new partnership with Polyphony Digital, the publisher behind the famous Gran Turismo game series on PlayStation, to bring the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra to Gran Turismo 7 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, marking the first Xiaomi model – and first Chinese vehicle – to be featured in the franchise.
As part of the partnership, Xiaomi will also work with Polyphony Digital to develop the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept vehicle.
The partnership follows Gran Turismo creator (and racing driver) Kazunori Yamauchi visit to Xiaomi’s home in Beijing in May 2025, where he met with Xiaomi Group Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Lei Jun. During the trip, Yamauchi was treated to an immersive test drive of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, alongside a tour of Xiaomi’s EV factory in Yizhuang.
Yamauchi expressed Polyphony Digital’s delight in partnering with Xiaomi, a newly established automotive player. He noted that Xiaomi has created an exceptional vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, which is a pivotal part of its comprehensive smart ecosystem spanning smartphones and home appliances.
“Beyond this, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype has shattered conventional performance benchmarks at the Nürburgring. Witnessing these achievements, I am deeply moved by Xiaomi’s courage, curiosity, passion, and relentless dedication to realising such milestones. This spirit resonates profoundly with Gran Turismo and Polyphony Digital’s philosophy,” Yamauchi added.

Launched in China early this year, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is the range-topper of the Xiaomi SU7 lineup, featuring a tri-motor powertrain that produces an astounding 1,548 hp, resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of 1.98 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h.
A prototype of the SU7 Ultra even managed a lap time around the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, posting a time of 6:46.874. This would make it the fastest four-door around the Green Hell, if it weren’t categorised under the prototype and pre-production vehicle category.
Despite its hypercar-beating performance, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is priced from just RMB529,900 (approx. RM313k) in China, where it’s sold alongside the regular SU7 and the upcoming Xiaomi YU7 which was unveiled recently.
CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, remarked, “We deeply resonate with Mr. Yamauchi’s visionary philosophy of building a better society through technology. This aligns perfectly with Xiaomi’s mission to let everyone in the world enjoy a better life through accessible and innovative technology. Our shared values paved the way for this collaboration.”
“Gran Turismo’s worldwide reputation for uncompromising quality and experience makes us particularly honoured to have Xiaomi SU7 Ultra included. We look forward to introducing more Gran Turismo players and automotive enthusiasts to the capabilities of high-performance smart EVs like ours,” said Lei.
