2024 Range Rover Evoque facelift coming to Malaysia in January

Following its global debut in June, JLR Malaysia has announced that the Range Rover Evoque facelift will soon be introduced here on our shores – more specifically, in January next year.

While it’s called a facelift officially, the new 2024 Range Rover Evoque really does not look all that different to the existing Evoque that’s currently on sale here in Malaysia. Well, not on the surface, anyway.

As part of the ‘facelift’ upgrade package, the new 2024 Range Rover Evoque is equipped with a new grille up front, featuring a new insert that brings the model more in line stylistically with the other Range Rover models, including the recently-launched Range Rover Sport. On either side of the grille are the new Pixel LED headlights, complete with a slightly reworked daytime-running light signature.

The other notable change is around the rear, where the taillights have now been updated with a new lighting signature, and what the carmaker calls “super-red” illumination that’s supposed to help other road users see it more clearly, thanks to its integrated matrix technology.

The bigger changes on the 2024 Range Rover Evoque is found on the inside. Well, change, in the form of a new “floating” 11.4-inch curved touchscreen display in the centre of the dashboard, replacing the older dual-screen infotainment set-up previously.

Unfortunately, that means that the physical knobs for the climate control has now been jettisoned in favour of touch controls, but at least you do get a new wireless charging pad for your smartphone located underneath the touchscreen.

JLR Malaysia has yet to provide any powertrain details, but the company did say that the new 2024 Range Rover Evoque will still be powered by the brand’s Ingenium petrol engines. For the outgoing model, the Evoque is currently offered in Malaysia in the P200 and P250 guises, both powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four engine making either 200 hp/320 Nm or 249 hp/365 Nm. Both variants are paired to a nine-speed automatic gearbox, as well as an all-wheel drive system.

Intrigued? JLR Malaysia will be organising a preview of the model at a roadshow in Bangsar Shopping Centre from January 3-7, 2024 – so be sure to head on down if you want to be among the first to check out the new Range Rover Evoque facelift!
