This video of two supercars battling on the Nurburgring proves power isn’t everything

There’s nothing more exciting than watching two of the most powerful cars
money can buy – a Mercedes-AMG GT R and a Porsche 911 GT3 RS – dishing it out at the Nurburgring.

I’ve always believed that too much of anything isn’t a good thing and that’s relative to power as well. In that sense, I prefer a balance – not too much power that it overwhelms the car and ultimately the driver, but enough to go real fast.

In the video, it’s obvious which car is more superior on the straights and the high speed sections but the GT3 RS more than makes up for it under heavy braking and in the tighter sections – as all 911s in general are known for.

The Mercedes-AMG GT R makes 585 hp with 700 Nm of torque from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 while the Porsche 911 GT3 RS makes 513 hp and 470 Nm of torque from its 4.0-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six.
