Zeekr Intelligent Technology Malaysia (Zeekr Malaysia) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Handal Green Mobility (DC Handal) to offer its Zeekr Power electric vehicle (EV) charging network nationwide.
The new partnership will see seven charging stations built along the North-South Expressway (minimum two charging points, with a minimum 120 kW output) for its initial phase. These chargers are said to be capable of providing up to 400 kW of power, with support for up to 600 kW in the future thanks to their 1.2 MW capacity. The network is also expected to expand further, although no specific timeline has been announced.
Additionally, the partnership will also provide more benefits to Zeekr owners when using DC Handal’s existing charging network, which currently consists of 250 charging points across Peninsular and East Malaysia.
Zeekr says the initiative is aligned with its global ambitions of providing an integrated user ecosystem, where owners have access to reliable infrastructure and digital services. It will also provide a more accessible and reliable charging ecosystem through its Zeekr Power infrastructure strategy.
Zeekr Power is an energy business subbrand of Zeekr Group. It claims to operate the largest automaker-led ultra-fast charging network in China with 860 ultra-fast (800V) charging stations, 4,134 chargers, as well as 1,536 fast-charging stations covering 183 cities.
The company also says that it is connected to approximately 1,120,000 third-party public chargers, covering 100% of the network in China’s prefecture-level cities. Developed a new V4-generation charger, which the company claims is the world’s first 1.2MW power ultra-fast charger.
