Dunlop has officially re-entered the Malaysian market following the appointment of Toyotsu Binter Malaysia (TBM) as its exclusive tyre distributor. While Dunlop has maintained a continuous market presence in Malaysia since the 1960s, this new phase leverages Toyotsu Binter’s regional ASEAN experience alongside its ties to Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Sumitomo Rubber Industries.
As Dunlop’s new distributor, TBM is currently working with a nationwide network of more than 190 authorised wholesalers, trade partners, and direct dealers, primarily located across Peninsular Malaysia. Futhermore, the company is evaluating the introduction of specialised Dunlop retail concepts.
“This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Dunlop in Malaysia. Our focus is on strengthening supply consistency, expanding dealer reach, and ensuring Malaysian motorists benefit from Dunlop’s latest global tyre technologies, including products developed to support the shift towards electrified mobility,” said TBM Managing Director Marcus Lim.
Simultaneously, TBM is increasing Dunlop’s presence in the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) segment by securing factory-fitment contracts with major automakers. Dunlop tyres are currently featured on selected models from Toyota, Lexus, Isuzu, Mazda, and Leapmotor.

This OEM strategy includes supplying tyres for electrified platforms, such as the fully electric Toyota bZ4X. To meet the specific structural demands of electric vehicles, which include higher vehicle weight and instant torque delivery, Dunlop is expanding its local lineup of EV-compatible tyres.
Following this, Dunlop introduced the Blue Response TG passenger car tyre. The model features improved ride comfort, handling stability, low rolling resistance, and reduced cabin noise, making it suitable for electrified vehicles. This joins Dunlop’s broader EV-compatible portfolio in Malaysia, which also includes the Sport Maxx Lux, SP Sport Maxx 060+, and the upcoming e.Sport Maxx.
