Touch ‘n Go has demonstrated its homegrown Titan Flow Technology at a media event today at the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). The event provided a preview of the future Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) system through a new ‘Enhanced RFID’ lane, identified by a distinctive gold star symbol at the AKLEH Dato Keramat toll plaza.
The Enhanced RFID lane incorporates key components of Titan Flow Technology to deliver a smoother, more reliable and more intuitive tolling experience. Drivers can pass through the lane at speeds exceeding 50 km/h, delivering up to a 30% improvement in lane traffic flow and noticeably faster queue clearing.
Touch ‘n Go revealed during the media presentation that it targets deploying 10 of these Enhanced RFID lanes across selected highways by the end of the year. The installed hardware is also fully reusable for future MLFF gantries, making it a sustainable precursor to barrier-free tolling. The media demonstration was conducted in partnership with GWM Malaysia, using their vehicle fleet to showcase real-world integration.
Titan Flow Technology combines Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) as its primary detection system alongside Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and LiDAR.
Designed specifically to handle local driving habits, tag-cloning security threats and severe tropical weather, this multi-layered validation setup achieves a detection accuracy of 99.98% under real-world conditions. This figure follows a 20-month proof of concept deployment at the LKSA Alam Impian toll, where the platform successfully detected more than 10.7 million vehicles across five vehicle classes.

The platform is backwards-compatible across three generations of RFID tags, building upon a broad mobility network that processes over 1.9 billion expressway transactions annually. The ecosystem is currently supported by over 4.7 million registered RFID motorists and 27 million verified Touch ‘n Go eWallet users.
Complementing the technology and preventing hold-ups at toll booths is the eWallet SOS Balance feature. The temporary microcredit feature has enabled over 37.7 million uninterrupted journeys worth RM111,557,646 by providing a grace period for motorists who pass through a toll plaza with insufficient funds. More than 6,900 transactions utilise SOS Balance every day.
Touch ‘n Go Chief Executive Officer Praba Sangarajoo emphasised that the ultimate goal of the system is to make toll collection completely invisible to motorists.
“The best journey is one people hardly notice, and that’s precisely the point,” said Sangarajoo. “Nobody begins a journey wondering whether their toll transaction will go through; they simply expect it to. Our focus has always been on creating experiences that are seamless, reliable and secure whilst maintaining the accuracy and accountability required by highway operators. Titan Flow brings together multiple technologies that work in concert to deliver that experience.”
