Pro-Net, the new energy subsidiary of Proton, announced that the Proton eMAS 5 (stylised as e.MAS 5) has surpassed the 5,000-unit delivery milestone within just two months of its launch in late October 2025.
This comes after the eMAS 5 recorded 3,068 units delivered in January 2026, which was its first full month of deliveries. The latest milestone positions the Proton eMAS 5 as the best-selling electric vehicle (EV) in Malaysia for February, continuing its leadership from January. Additionally, the hatchback has maintained its position among the top five best-selling passenger car models in the country for the second consecutive month.
Commenting on the achievement, CEO of Pro-Net Zhang Qiang, said, “Surpassing 5,000 deliveries in just two months and achieving more than 3,500 bookings for the eMAS 7 PHEV within one and a half months clearly demonstrate that Malaysians are embracing electrified mobility at an accelerating pace. These results validate our strategy of offering practical, value-driven electrification solutions tailored for the local market.”
“We are humbled by the strong response, but we are equally confident that our focus on building a complete EV ecosystem, from product innovation to ownership support, is what truly differentiates the eMAS brand. Our goal is to make electrified mobility accessible, reassuring and relevant for everyday Malaysian families,” he added.

This market momentum is expected to accelerate further following the launch of the Proton eMAS 7 PHEV in February 2026. As the brand’s first foray into the plug-in hybrid segment, the SUV is available in three variants: Prime, Premium, and Premium Plus. Prices are set at RM109,800, RM123,800, and RM129,800, respectively.
Under the bonnet, it features a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder dedicated hybrid engine underneath the bonnet, producing 99 hp/125 Nm. This is paired with an 11-in-1 integrated dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), enabling series-parallel hybrid capabilities. A traction electric motor is integrated into the DHT, delivering 218 hp/262 Nm to the front wheels, resulting in a combined max system output of 262 hp and 262 Nm.
Battery capacity and driving range vary depending on the variant chosen. The Prime and Premium models are equipped with an 18.4 kWh CATL-sourced LFP battery, providing a pure electric range of 83 km (WLTP, 105 km NEDC) and a total combined driving range of up to 943 km (WLTP, 1,000 km NEDC).
For those requiring more range, the range-topping Premium Plus features a larger 29.8 kWh Aegis Short Blade LFP battery. This larger pack increases the EV driving range to 146 km (WLTP, 170 km NEDC) and increases the combined range to 996 km (WLTP, 1,065 km NEDC).
