Proton eMAS 7 updated for 2026 in Malaysia – CKD, standard power tailgate, updated ADAS, from RM104k

Pro-Net, the new energy vehicle (NEV) subsidiary of Proton, has announced new updates to the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7) in Malaysia for 2026, now as a locally assembled (CKD) model. The eMAS 7 is the first model to be produced at Proton’s new dedicated EV factory in Tanjung Malim.

The range continues to offer two variants, Prime and Premium, with prices starting from RM103,800, on-the-road, without insurance, and before any launch promotions (more on this later). That makes the CKD entry-level Proton eMAS 7 Prime variant RM2,000 cheaper than the fully imported (CBU) model, which was previously priced at RM105,800, although the CKD Premium variant remains at the same price of RM119,800.

  • Proton eMAS 7 Prime – RM103,800
  • Proton eMAS 7 Premium – RM119,800

No changes to the looks of the CKD Proton eMAS 7, although Proton has given the fully electric C-segment SUV some equipment upgrades. Notably, the Prime variant is now equipped with a hands-free powered tailgate, a feature previously reserved for the range-topping Premium variant. Otherwise, the equipment list for the eMAS 7 Prime variant include:

  • LED headlights and taillights
  • Follow-me home light
  • Automatic headlights
  • Flush door handles
  • Roof rails
  • Electronic adjustable and heated wing mirrors
  • 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Giti tyres
  • Hands-free powered tailgate

The Premium variant adds on these exterior features:

  • 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear tyres
  • Panoramic sunroof with sunshade
  • Active grille shutter

The new Premium variant of the 2026 CKD Proton eMAS 7 also adds three new functions to its advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), comprising Evasive Manoeuvre Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, and Active Lane Change Assist. These new features are made possible by the addition of three new millimetre-wave radar units. Unfortunately, existing eMAS 7 owners will not be able to receive these specific features via an over-the-air (OTA) update due to these hardware requirements.

  • Adaptive cruise control (ACC)
  • Automatic emergency braking (AEB)
  • Forward collision warning (FCW)
  • Lane departure warning (LCW)
  • Rear collision warning (RCW)
  • Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
  • Rear cross traffic braking (RCTB)
  • Lane change assist (LCA)
  • Blind spot detection (BSD)
  • Door opening warning
  • Evasive Manoeuvre Assist (Premium variant only)
  • Front Cross-Traffic Alert (Premium variant only)
  • Active Lane Change Assist (Premium variant only)

The new 2026 Proton eMAS 7’s interior remains largely unchanged. As part of the update introduced in 2025, the cabin can now be upholstered in either Indigo Blue or Alabaster White. It is worth noting that the Alabaster White option is available in limited units and is exclusive to the Premium variant, when paired with the Turquoise Green or Quartz Rose exterior paint job.

The cabin still features a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. Other interior features of the Proton eMAS 7 Prime include:

  • 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster
  • Leather upholstery
  • Six-way power adjustable driver seat
  • Storage compartment under second-row seats
  • Storage compartment under trunk floor
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Six-speaker sound system
  • Automatic air conditioning with N95 filter

The Proton eMAS 7 Premium adds the following interior features:

  • Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
  • Six-way power adjustable driver seat with memory function
  • Four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat
  • Front ventilated seats
  • 256-colour ambient lighting
  • Driver heads-up display (HUD)
  • 16-speaker Flyme sound system

Both variants continue to be powered by a front-mounted electric motor that produces 218 hp (160 kW) and 320 Nm. This translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 6.9 seconds on the Prime variant and 7.1 seconds on the Premium variant. Both variants have a rated top speed of 175 km/h.

The Prime variant is equipped with a 49.52 kWh battery pack, providing a WLTP-rated range of 345 km. Charging is supported with 11 kW AC charging and 80 kW DC charging.

The Premium variant features a larger 60.22 kWh battery pack, increasing the range to 410 km (WLTP). It supports the same 11 kW AC charging, but DC charging support is increased to 100 kW. Regardless of capacity, both variants take approximately 20 minutes to charge from 30- 80% using a compatible DC fast charger.

The 2026 CKD Proton eMAS 7 is available in six exterior colours, which are Lithium White, Turquoise Green, Slate Grey, Platinum Silver, Quartz Rose, and Obsidian Black. The latter was introduced as part of a mid-2025 update in response to customer demand.

The 2026 CKD Proton eMAS 7 is priced from RM103,800. To celebrate the launch, Pro-Net is offering a limited-time Welcome Benefit with a RM4,000 rebate, reducing the price of the eMAS 7 to RM99,800 and RM115,800, respectively. In addition, Pro-Net has announced a new Power Pack+ sales package that includes the following benefits:

  • Power Home: A free 7kW home charger worth RM1,500
  • Power Plus: A complimentary V2L adaptor worth RM500
  • Power Online: Five-year unlimited internet data worth RM1,800
