Dongfeng Vigo previewed in Malaysia – EV SUV with 471 km range, due in Q1 2026

Dongfeng Cars Malaysia, through its local distributor Central Auto Distributors Berhad (CADB), has previewed the Dongfeng Vigo for the first time in Malaysia. Shown alongside the Dongfeng 007, it is positioned as a family-friendly C-Segment SUV and will be arriving in Malaysia in Q1 2026.

Already available in Singapore, the Dongfeng Vigo measures 4,306 mm long, 1,868 mm wide, 1,654 mm tall, and with a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. This parks it around the C-segment crossover segment and measures similarly to some electric vehicle (EV) SUVs and crossovers like the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7), BYD Atto 3, and the MG S5 EV

Unlike the Box and 007, the Dongfeng Vigo adopts a more rugged – yet still modern – design. Its overall proportions are boxy, with bold, squared lines that give it a more off-road-ready stance. Up front, adaptive LED headlights with L-shaped daytime running lights (DRL) keep it modern. The rear mirrors the L-shaped light design, but with its thin LED strip separated by a small gap in the middle.

Inside, the Dongfeng Vigo sports a letterbox-style 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch centre infotainment screen. Unlike the Singaporean unit, the Dongfeng Vigo in Malaysia will have support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and feature a 540-degree surround view camera.

Aside from that, expect to see a two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a six-speaker sound system, a wireless charging pad, vegan leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and ambient lighting. Notably, the Vigo also comes with a split tailgate design — just like more upmarket SUVs like the BMW X5

Dongfeng Malaysia has yet to confirm any performance figures for the Vigo, apart from a quoted range of 471 km (CLTC). This corresponds with the sole specification offered in Singapore, suggesting that the Malaysian market will receive the same configuration, with a single motor on the front axle producing 135 hp (99 kW) and 230 Nm, translating to a 0-100 km/h time of 9.5 seconds.

Energy comes from a 51.87 kWh battery pack, supporting up to 167 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging. According to Dongfeng Malaysia, the Vigo can charge from 30–80% in just approximately 18 minutes.

Pricing is estimated to start from RM100,000 when it officially launches in Malaysia. The company has also shared plans for local assembly (CKD), which could help lower its price once Malaysia’s EV tax exemption period ends.
