Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has announced an equipment list update for the Jaecoo J7 AWD variant, which will now come standard with electric side steps and a side toolkit box as standard equipment.
Reflecting the additional equipment, the J7 AWD’s sticker price has been increased by RM4,200 to RM153,000, on-the-road, without insurance, up from RM148,800 previously. The FWD variant remains priced at RM138,800.

Previously, the electric side steps and side toolkit box were part of the accessory Package A, which cost RM7,800. Separately, there is also a second option, Package B, which adds a roof rack frame, a side toolkit box, and a hard-shell side awning for RM10,000. Other optional accessories include a side climb ladder (RM1,500) and a tactical box (RM3,000).
As standard, the Jaecoo J7 AWD exterior features LED headlights and taillights, welcome lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, and a panoramic sunroof.

Inside, the J7 AWD features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a centre 14.8-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory, ventilation, heating, and welcome functions.
Other interior features include a heated steering wheel, a centre armrest box with a chiller, and an eight-speaker sound system.

Powering both variants of the Jaecoo J7 in Malaysia is a 1.6-litre turbocharged straight-four engine, producing 197 hp and 290 Nm and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
There is also a plug-in hybrid powertrain found on the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, priced at RM158,800. This setup features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) housing integrated electric motors, which together produce a combined output of 347 hp and 525 Nm.
