As before, the new 2025 Volvo XC60 continues to be offered in both mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. The mild hybrid (B5) variant uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is supported by a 48-volt battery and integrated starter generator (ISG). This delivers a total output of 263 hp and 390 Nm, sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Stepping up to the plug-in hybrid (T8) variant gets a more powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired to a rear electric motor (e-Axle). This results in a combined output of 462 hp and 709 Nm, translating to a 0–100 km/h sprint in 4.8 seconds. Both variants have their top speed limited to 180 km/h, as per Volvo standards.
