Faster, smarter & more connected upgrades for Volvo cars in 2025

Volvo is introducing two major technology upgrades for its XC40, EX40, EC40, S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, V90, and V90 Cross Country models.

The new-generation Volvo Car UX is coming to all models, featuring a fresh look and a more user-friendly experience. Volvo’s new user experience is designed to be simple, safe, and customised based on real customer feedback. It offers quick access to important apps where maps, media, and phone functions are placed on the home screen.

Also featured is a smart navigation bar that adjusts based on the situation and shows your most-used apps. The driver display has also been updated with a larger and clearer navigation view.

The other upgrade includes the Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm, making the infotainment system much faster and more responsive. It is currently already available in models like the EX30, EX90 and will be available in the new XC90.

The next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit Platform will double the operation speed of the current system. It will also improve graphics by up to 10 times, making visuals appear smoother with reduced lag.

Starting this year, all mentioned models will come with this upgraded system. Volvo will also update existing cars via over-the-air (OTA) software update and said around 2.5 million Volvo owners with cars built as early as 2020 will receive this upgrade this year.
