Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has announced the delivery of its 20,000th vehicle in Malaysia, just 14 months after making its market debut with the Jaecoo J7 in July 2024. The milestone as the brand highlighted is a testament to rapid growth and Chery Group’s global export strategy.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia Acting Sales Director, Clement Yeo, credited the milestone to the strong trust and support of Malaysian customers. He said, “Reaching 20,000 registrations in just over a year is a proud moment for us and a testament to the trust Malaysian customers have placed in Omoda Jaecoo. This milestone is also part of a wider achievement for Chery Group, which has surpassed five million vehicles sold in export markets, with over 600,000 contributed by Omoda Jaecoo vehicles.”
“Through our authorised dealer network, we remain committed to delighting customers in Malaysia with an exceptional portfolio that blends advanced technology such as the Super Hybrid System with premium comfort, safety, and design,” he added.
To commemorate the occasion, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia hosted an exclusive owner event titled “20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust,” which was attended by over 100 guests. The landmark vehicle was a Jaecoo J7 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) delivered to Khirdzir Ali.
Reflecting on his decision to purchase the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, Khirdzir said, “I believe the J7 PHEV offers great value for money. Compared to other cars in the same price range and segment. Its impressive fuel efficiency adds great practicality and helps reduce running costs in my daily driving”.
The Jaecoo J7 PHEV is priced at RM158,800 on-the-road without insurance — just RM10,000 more than the range-topping non-hybrid variant. It features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, combining for a total system output of 347 hp and 525 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels only via a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which allows for a 0-100 km/h sprint time of 8.5 seconds.

Power for the electric system is sourced from an 18.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling an electric-only range of 103 km (NEDC). When supported by the combustion engine, the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is capable of a total range of 1,300 km (NEDC).
To celebrate the 20,000th unit milestone, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia is also extending its exclusive ownership offer to include the J7 PHEV, which comes with seven years of complimentary service or RM5,000 in rewards. Along with this, financial packages and service options are also available for both the Omoda C9 and Jaecoo J7.
