2025 Xpeng G6 facelift now open for booking in Malaysia — 1st October launch, RWD and AWD variants

Bermaz XPeng has announced via social media that order books for the new 2025 Xpeng G6 facelift are now open ahead of its official launch on October 1. Just a little over a year since its debut in Malaysia, the facelifted G6 arrives with major updates, including refreshed exterior styling, an updated interior, and three new variants — a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Long Range, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) Performance, and an AWD Black Edition.

At the front, the daytime-running lights (DRL) have now been connected — moving the Xpeng logo to the front of the bonnet, allowing for a full-width light signature. The car sits on new wheel designs and rids away the black outlines on the side fenders for a cleaner appearance.

Those who were not a fan of the previous model year’s egg-shaped backside may prefer how the facelift looks. It introduces a new ducktail spoiler and a sportier, more sculpted rear bumper, with a subtle resemblance to the Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

The inside sees the most change with a completely different dashboard design with redesigned air vents, wood veneer, and a new “galaxy rhythm” ambient lighting system. On it sits a slightly larger 15.6-inch floating infotainment display and is paired with a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster.

Specific equipment has yet to be confirmed, but globally, the cabin of the new XPeng G6 now features Nappa leather upholstery with heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. Other upgrades include a second wireless charging pad, additional storage space, an ultra-fine suede headliner, and leather-trimmed door panels for extra comfort and refinement.

Performance figures for the Malaysian model have yet to be confirmed too, but they’re expected to largely mirror the recently launched Thai version. There, the new XPeng G6 features a new 800-volt architecture, with the RWD variant now producing 296 hp and 450 Nm of torque — up from 255 hp in the base model and 282 hp in the flagship — cutting the 0-100 km/h sprint to just 6.3 seconds.

The AWD variant adds another electric motor on the front axle, allowing for a combined output of 480 hp and 660 Nm of torque — reducing the 0-100 km/h sprint time even further to just 4.13 seconds

Both variants in Thailand are powered by the same 80.8 kWh battery, with the RWD variant boasting 525 km of WLTP range and the AWD variant seeing a slight drop at 510 km of WLTP range. The car features a 5C “ultra-fast” charging AI battery, upgraded from the previous 3C charging.  “C” refers to how many times the battery’s capacity can be charged in one hour — 5C means five times its capacity compared to just three times in the outgoing model.

This allows the car to add 450 km of range in 10 minutes or 10-80% in just 12 minutes via 451 kW of DC charging. AC charging is also supported at 11kW, charging the car from 5-100% in 9.2 hours.

While Chinese models are kitted with dual NVIDIA Orin chips with a total computing power of 508 TOPS, the Thai model only gets one Nvidia Orin Chip — resulting in only 254 TOPS of computing power. Despite this, the car is still fitted with an extensive suite of cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors for the advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) — hinting that our model could follow suit.

Set to launch on October 1, it remains to be seen whether the Malaysian model will receive the same level of advanced AI technology as the Chinese model or align more closely with the Thai model. For those interested, bookings are now open, and if you’re still on the fence, stay tuned for our full coverage of the Xpeng G6 facelift.
