BYD Seal updated in Indonesia with new DiSus-C adaptive suspension and mod-con updates

Our neighbours in Indonesia have just welcomed the updated 2025 BYD Seal, just one year after the debut of the fully electric sedan in the archipelago. The updated electric vehicle (EV) is available in two variants: Premium and Performance, priced between IDR639 million (approx. RM165k) to IDR750 million (approx. RM194k).

The biggest change to the 2025 BYD Seal in Indonesia is the introduction of the DiSus-C Intelligent Damping Body Control System on the Performance variant. This is the same system found in the Denza D9, but whereas the system is tuned for comfort on the Denza, on the Seal Performance, it is calibrated to make the car go faster around corners by minimising body roll, the carmaker says.

With the introduction of the DiSus-C suspension on the Seal Performance, the Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) system, which was previously exclusive to the Performance variant, has now trickled down to the base Premium variant.

The update also includes several exterior tweaks, such as the addition of a panoramic sunroof and a new design for the 19-inch alloy rims, which is the same design used by the BYD Seal facelift in China. Inside, the updated 2025 BYD Seal in Indonesia has also introduced some modern convenience updates, which include a sunglasses holder, the digital key feature via NFC, and a Bluetooth smart access feature.

Powering the BYD Seal Performance in Indonesia is a dual-motor setup that produces 530 hp (390 kW) and 670 Nm, which enables a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds. The Premium variant, meanwhile, is powered by a single electric motor that produces 313 hp (230 kW) and 360 Nm, resulting in a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds.

Both variants are equipped with an 82.56 kWh BYD Blade battery pack, which enables an NEDC-rated range of 650 km for the Premium variant and 580 km for the Performance variant.

Charging specs are also the same, with the two sharing 7 kW AC and 150 kW DC charging support, although BYD Indonesia did not provide official recharging times. For context, the BYD Seal in Malaysia, equipped with the same battery pack, can recharge from 10-80% in just 37 minutes.

This is actually slower than the BYD Seal in China is capable of, as the facelift there introduces an 800V architecture, which enables it to recharge from 10-80% in just 25 minutes, although the Chinese car also comes equipped with a slightly smaller 80.64 kWh battery pack.

The updated BYD Seal in Indonesia will also miss out on the new roof-mounted LiDAR sensor present on the Chinese model, which improves autonomous driving capabilities like Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) and Automated Valet Parking (AVP).

With the introduction of the updated BYD Seal in Indonesia, it’s likely that the new model will also make its way into Malaysia soon too. The last major update for the Seal in Malaysia was the introduction of the entry-level Dynamic variant, priced at RM163,800.
