Sime Darby Beyond Auto has just announced the arrival of the 2024 BYD Seal Dynamic, a new entry-level variant of the BYD Seal in Malaysia. Launched with a price of RM163,800, bringing the starting price down by RM16,000 this new variant is being placed below BYD Seal Standard and BYD Seal Performance.
As the entry-level variant, the BYD Seal Dynamic features a smaller battery pack and a less powerful electric motor. It shares the same single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) configuration as the Premium but with less power. The Dynamic produces 203 hp and 310 Nm of torque, resulting in an acceleration time of 7.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.
The BYD Seal Dynamic features a 61.4 kWh LFP battery, offering a WLTP range of up to 460 km. While it supports a maximum DC charging power of 110 kW, the Premium and Performance variants can charge at a faster 150 kW maximum rate. AC charging remains consistent across the lineup at 7 kW single-phase. The vehicle-to-load (V2L) function comes standard as well.
Exterior-wise, the BYD Seal Dynamic comes with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), LED taillights, a panoramic glass roof, and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The BYD Seal Dynamic can be had in Aurora White or Cosmos Black.
Moving inside, you get black coloured leather upholstery as standard, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment display that comes with wireless Android Auto and wired Apple CarPlay connectivity, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and 12-speakers Dynaudio sound system. Two Qi wireless chargers are included here as well.
In terms of safety, the BYD Seal Dynamic in Malaysia gets the brand’s advanced driver safety assistance systems (ADAS) suite as standard. Among the features thrown in consist of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic emergency braking system (AEB), Lane Detection Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention System (LDP), and Emergency Lane Keeping System (ELKA).
Included in the price of the BYD Seal Dynamic is a 6-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty and an 8-year/160,000km high-voltage battery warranty. It also comes with an 8-year/150,00km drive unit warranty.
