After months of teasing the car in camouflage on public roads, Proton has finally unveiled the all-new 2025 X50. While pricing has yet to be revealed, the hype surrounding the model suggests that the announcement won’t be far off.
The new X50 sports an even more aggressive look than before, highlighted by a larger front grille and slimmer headlights. It comes standard with 17-inch wheels, going up to 18-inch on higher-end variants. Along the sides, the body lines remain largely similar to its predecessor, but the rear has been significantly redesigned, with a full-width light bar and a striking rear wing (Flagship variant exclusive) that give it a bolder presence.
Inside, the cabin replaces the fighter jet-inspired look with a cleaner design, closely resembling the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7). It features a 14.6-inch infotainment display with support for “Hey Proton” in Bahasa Melayu, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Just like the eMAS 7, it is paired with an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster that also shows information from the advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).
Speaking of ADAS, the all-new Proton X50 will be kitted with SAE Level 2 ADAS that adds a rear side radar system, alongside an improved Auto Park Assist (APA) function. It also gains a 360-degree surround view monitor with a new undercarriage transparent view.

Another significant update to the new X50 is its new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is said to produce 181 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.6 seconds—0.3 seconds quicker than its predecessor.
Although official pricing for the all-new Proton X50 hasn’t been revealed, keen buyers can now register their interest via Proton’s website. Leading up to the official launch, the car will also be exhibited at a series of “activation events”, where customers can place early bookings.
