Honda Malaysia has announced a new product recall involving 87,490 Honda vehicles to replace its fuel pump as a precautionary measure.
According to a press release by Honda Malaysia, the fuel pump impeller may swell after prolonged fuel immersion, potentially preventing the vehicle from starting, or causing the engine to stall while driving. This particular recall affects a total of 84,073 units of the Honda Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Odyssey. The details of the affected models are as follows:
| Honda Model | Model Year |
| Jazz | 2015 – 2020 |
| Jazz Hybrid | 2018 |
| City | 2014 – 2019 |
| City Hybrid | 2018 – 2019 |
| Civic | 2017 – 2018 |
| Accord | 2013 – 2017 |
| BR-V | 2017- 2018 |
| HR-V | 2015 – 2018 |
| CR-V | 2018 – 2020 |
| Odyssey | 2017 – 2019 |

A second, separate issue pertains to the high-pressure fuel pump, which may crack due to prolonged and excessive stress. This could potentially cause a fuel leak or result in a fuel odour while driving or idling. This issue affects 3,417 units of the 11th-generation Honda Civic (2023 – 2024) and the sixth-generation CR-V (2024).
All affected customers will be informed via notification letters, which will include details of the product recall. Customers can also check if their vehicle is affected in the recall via the HondaTouch application, calling Malaysia’s toll-free number at 1800-88-2020, or log on to the recall website at productrecall.honda.com.my.

Honda Malaysia urges all affected customers to contact any authorised Honda dealer to schedule an appointment for fuel pump replacement upon receiving the notification. The replacement of the affected fuel pump and high-pressure fuel pump is free of charge, and all costs related to this replacement activity will be borne by Honda Malaysia. The replacement stock will be available in stages.
Honda Malaysia will continue to take proactive measures and uphold transparency and stringent controls to ensure the safety of its customers. As such, the company is also extending the recall to models where the warranty period has lapsed.
Honda Malaysia apologises for the inconvenience caused to the affected customers, and reassures them that all current production and selling models are not affected by this product recall.
