UMW Toyota has announced that a new “Track Edition” variant of the Toyota GR Supra is now available in Malaysia. Priced at RM698,000, this special model features several cosmetic upgrades and chassis tweaks for improved performance, making the already-aggressive coupe even sportier.
The Flagship of Toyota’s Gazoo Racing (GR) line up has been on sale for roughly six years now. It has gone through various upgrades with multiple special editions over the years and this time, Toyota GR has given the fifth-generation Supra upgrades to make it more capable on track and winding roads alike.
Starting with the exterior, the GR Supra Track Edition features new front underlip tyre spats and aero flaps around the wheel arches. Along with the very apparent carbon fibre ducktail spoiler, these upgrades improve the aerodynamic performance of the car.
New 19-inch light alloy wheels finished in matte black now come standard with the car, and are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres which are ZR-rated (capable for speeds above 240 km/h) – exclusive to the GR Supra Track Edition.

Inside, the GR Supra Track Edition gets an exclusive interior package to add visual flair to the interior. The seats are upholstered in Alcantara and leather, with GR emblems embroidered on the headrests. The interior is also accented by red seat belts, while manual versions feature a red ring around the leather-wrapped gear knob.
At the heart of the GR Supra Track Edition is the same B58 3.0-litre inline-six cylinder engine that many enthusiasts love. Boosted by a twin-scroll turbo, the six-banger makes 388 hp and 500 Nm and is available with a six-speed manual transmission or eight-speed torque converter gearbox.
Exclusive to the Track Edition is a new “Track Edition” control in the electronically controlled limited slip differential (LSD) for improved stability. The electric power steering system is also retuned with an exclusive Track Edition control map for improved responsiveness and feel.
More enhancements to come with the GR Supra Track Edition is a retuned version of the adaptive variable suspension system that comes standard with the GR Supra.

Additional upgrades include new front control arms, negative camber adjustments, stiffer stabiliser bar with aluminium brackets and reinforced rubber bushings, which all come together to give the car a more track-focused characteristic and better driving dynamics.
The RM689,000 price tag may seem steep for many, although now that the A90-generation Toyota GR Supra is nearing its end, this could well be the last special edition model on offer here for to own a special piece of Toyota’s performance legacy.
