Jaecoo Malaysia has posted on their official Facebook page a photo of a dark silhouette with only the headlights visible. We believe it is the Omoda C7 that was shown at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show last week.
The Omoda C7 is a five-seater C-segment SUV that would be larger than the Omoda 5, and smaller than the Omoda C9. The design overall is a smooth and understated one that projects a classy appearance similar to the Omoda C9, especially the rear lights. However, we do think the front looks relatively similar to the Lexus RX 500h F Sport – which is cool if you like that.
The inside features a very different design compared to the Omoda C9 and the Omoda 5 with several themes for a unique driving experience. The steering wheel is inspired by a gaming controller for a “playful experience” and allows for seamless communication with the car.
The seats are similarly inspired by gaming chairs and are partly upholstered in Nubuck for better support. The upholstery features quilt stitching, with gradient square perforations for optimal temperature management.

Additional features include an intelligent fragrance system and a 12 plus two speaker system that is said to provide a three dimensional stage sound. It’s also equipped with an environmental noise cancellation feature that blocks 90% of noise from the outside.
The Omoda C7 features very impressive 15.6-inch centre infotainment display that uses the Snapdragon 8155 chipset. It has a brightness of over 1000 nits, a display resolution of 2.5K, and internal storage space of 12+128GB. Along with this is an eight-inch heads-up-display that lights up to 110000 nits that allows for a clear view even in harsh light.
The best part of the interior, the centre infotainment screen can slide all the way to the passenger side – something to show off to your friends.

Along with the advanced system, the car features a slew of safety features that are equally boastful. The car is able to detect eight different road conditions and 18 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Headlamp Control, just to name a few.
In terms of hardware, the Omoda C7 is not to be ignored. It features an integrated front facing camera, four surround-view cameras, two ultrasonic radars, and three 12mm-wave radars with one at the front and two facing the rear.
This hardware enables a smart auto parking assist system with a 540 degree panoramic view that allows drivers to see through the floor bed of the car while parking.
The Omoda C7 will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo engine that puts out 156 hp and 220 Nm. It is then assisted by an electric motor that produces 204 hp and 310 Nm. Altogether, the total system output is rated at 360 hp and 530 Nm.
Along with a drag coefficient of 0.298, the system can produce a range of up to 1,200km as tested by driving from Frankfurt to Rome by the Omoda team. For a better impression of the car, be sure to catch its appearance at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2025!
