Having just launched the Jetour Dashing in Malaysia less than a month ago, Jetour Malaysia is once again dashing to release another SUV. This time, it’s a D-segment 7-seater SUV and it will be called the Jetour VT9 according to their Facebook post.
The Jetour VT9 appeared at the Malaysia Autoshow last year and gained popularity due to it bearing a similar name to a popular Malaysian SUV. Being a 7-seater SUV, it will be going up against a bunch of models like the Proton X90, Mazda CX-8, Nissan X-Trail, and maybe even the upcoming Jaecoo J8.
The overall design of the car takes a more aggressive approach compared to its Chinese cousins like the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. The rear is reminiscent of a pre-facelift Audi Q8 with the way the singular light bar wraps around the rear of the car.
So far, not much information about the car has been announced but we do know that the car will come with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that pumps out 156 hp and 230 Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission to power the front wheels.

As seen at the Malaysia Autoshow last year, the overall interior design seems rather similar to what can be found in Mercedes-Benz a few years ago. The dashboard features two 10.25-inch displays, one for the infotainment, and the other for the digital instrument cluster.
Connectivity for the Jetour will not be a problem as the car will feature four USB ports, 12 V sockets on the front and back, and a 50 W wireless charging pad on the centre console.
As the announcement from the Jetour Facebook post was brief, we will have to wait for the full Malaysian launch to get a better picture of what to expect. Stay tuned with us to keep updated on the latest automotive news.
