As writers, we often rely on carmakers’ websites for information, and while working on our recent article about the Geely Galaxy Starship 7, we discovered a particularly useful visualiser tool on Geely Galaxy China’s site.
Initially, it appears to be your standard 3D visualiser, prominently featuring the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 in various colour options and moving your cursor shows different angles of the SUV.
However, as we explored and used the visualiser further, we found this tool engaging enough to warrant an article focusing on this simple feature alone.
Firstly, the animations. Unlike your standard 3D visualisers, the Geely Galaxy’s one is one of the smoothest that we have ever come across. It loads quickly, and you can jump straight into exploring the Starship 7. The animations and graphics are so smooth and it feels more like exploring a video game than using a standard visualiser.
To prove our point, you can actually open the doors and the tailgate of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 in the visualiser. This allows you to explore the vehicle in its virtual form without you having to see the car in flesh at the showroom.

The carmaker even went the extra mile to visualise some features of the Starship 7, such as its drag coefficient, 16-speaker sound system, and interior space.
Through the interior space visualiser, you can see the boot space of the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 with the rear seats upright, and remarkably, they include an animation of the rear seats folding down. It’s a level of detail that goes above and beyond the norm.
Arguably, the standout feature of the visualiser is the car comparison tool. This allows you to directly compare the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 and the Galaxy E5 (known as the Proton eMAS 7 in Malaysia) in 3D form, a feature we’ve yet to encounter elsewhere. What’s even cooler is that you can even change the colour of the Galaxy E5 to see them side-by-side in your preferred shades!
Geely clearly understands the needs of writers (and car buyers) seeking specification information because they even provide the dimensions for the Starship 7 and the Galaxy E5. Yes, the dimensions of both cars are displayed clearly; meaning no more opening multiple tabs on the browser!
It’s a feature we wish more carmakers would implement on their websites, and perhaps Proton, being part of the Geely family, could lead the way. Proton, if you are reading this, can we have a visualiser like this please?
