Bermaz Motor’s ongoing roadshow at 1 Utama Shopping Centre is all about performance. Not only did it set the stage for the launch of the Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition yesterday, the company has also now put a special Mazda 3 Concept prototype up on display at the event location.
The special model is a Mazda 3 hatchback decked out in more aggressive styling and exclusive sporty upgrades. Could it hint at an upcoming Mazda 3 MS Edition model, like the one the company launched back in 2016?
The Mazda 3 Concept is the brainchild of Bermaz’s MazdaSports (MS) Division, and it’s a reinterpretation of the aforementioned original MS Edition. Bermaz says that the concept embodies a “more personalised Jinba-Ittai experience”, thanks to its bolder rendition of the current Kodo design language, enhanced with exclusive body vinyl stickers on the exterior.
For a more aggressive styling, the Mazda 3 Concept features a full piano black body kit, alongside a redesigned rear spoiler, and beefier exhaust tips.

Inside, the Mazda 3 Concept also gains new suede-upholstered seats with a striking red stripe and an MS initial. The steering wheel is also wrapped in suede to amplify the sporty character.
Aside from just looks, the concept also comes with Enkei Tuning SC22 wheels, reducing the unsprung mass for better performance, upgraded Endless Super Street S-Sports brake pads for improved stopping power, and additional front strut bars, which should help with the Mazda 3’s already-impressive handling.
Nothing was revealed about its powertrain, though, and we aren’t expecting any upgrades here. That means it should still be powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 162 hp and 213 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox sending power to the front wheels.
Just imagine, though, that it also comes with the 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Mazda 3 Turbo in overseas markets, giving it some 250 hp and 434 Nm… Well, one could dream.
Want to check out the Mazda 3 Concept in person? You can catch it at the Bermaz Auto Showcase from April 10 to 13, 2025, at the LG Oval Concourse in 1 Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya.
