Thirty-five years since the Mazda MX-5 debuted in 1989, Bermaz Motor has launched the 35th Anniversary Edition 2025 Mazda MX-5 here in Malaysia. Fully imported from Japan, the special edition MX-5 goes for RM316,154.
The 35th Anniversary Edition is exclusively for the Retractable Fastback (RF) convertible body style. It is offered only in Artisan Red Premium, with a three layer finish to enhance the sculpted body of the convertible.
The Artisan Red Premium is the fourth special colour created using Mazda’s Takuminuri paint technology. It delivers a fine-grained transparent red that radiates brilliance with deep and rich effect.
With the special edition, you get a serialised 35th Anniversary Edition badge on the rear fender and an emblem embossed onto the headrests of the tan interior. The mats also feature embroidered 35th Anniversary Edition logos.
On top of the special edition model, the 2025 MX-5 also comes with several updates. Outside you get redesigned headlamps, daytime running lights and tail lights.
Lighting on the MX-5s are now all LED while the rear bumper is updated with reflectors and rear fog lights. Wheels are 17-inch in size.

There are significant mechanical upgrades in the 2025 MX-5. This includes a new asymmetric limited-slip differential, and DSC Track Mode to allow more spirited drives while still offering a ‘safety net’.
The power steering is now motor assisted for more precise steering. The MX-5s upgraded safety system now offers rear-cross traffic alert.
All variants of the 2025 MX-5 in Malaysia will only be available with 2.0-litre engines and RF body styles. Like the 35th Anniversary edition, they’re also fully imported from Japan.
Several colours are available including Deep Crystal Blue, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Jet Black, and the newly added Aero Gray which was introduced on the 2023 Mazda 2 and Mazda CX-3.

The 2025 Mazda MX-5 RF starts from RM294,154 for the manual and RM296,154 for the automatic transmission.
The Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition will be at the Oval Concourse, 1 Utama from 10-13th April from 10 am to 10 pm.
