Honda Malaysia sets 83,000-unit sales target in 2025, estimated 10.6% market share

Honda Malaysia has set a sales target of 83,000 units in 2025. This announcement was made during a media event last Friday, where the Japanese carmaker also revealed plans to launch three new models this year.

Honda Malaysia’s sales target for 2025 is based on its strong performance in 2024, where it achieved total sales of 81,600 units and secured a 10% market share. This positioned Honda as the leading non-national brand in passenger car sales.

With the new sales target, Honda Malaysia is also estimating an increased 10.6% market share in 2025.

The Honda HR-V, City, and CR-V were the brand’s top three best-selling models in 2024, contributing 26%, 25%, and 14% of its total sales last year respectively. The Honda CR-V, in particular, recorded 11,300 units sold, making it the top-selling mid-size SUV in Malaysia for the year.

Honda’s e:HEV models also had a great year in 2024, accounting for almost 30% of all hybrid cars sold in Malaysia, the company says in a press release. These hybrid powertrains are available for every model Honda Malaysia currently offers, except for the Honda WR-V and the FL5 Civic Type R.

In addition to the e:N1, which will be making its debut in Malaysia this year, Honda Malaysia is also planning to launch three EVs by 2027. While we don’t know what the other two Honda EVs will be just yet, the Honda Zero Series of concept vehicles might offer some clues.
