Toyota teases new compact EV SUV for Europe – coupe styling, full reveal on March 12


Toyota is gearing up to unveil a brand-new electric vehicle (EV) for the European market on March 12, 2025, and they’ve given us a sneak peek with a teaser image.

The teaser image below gives us a glimpse of the car’s side profile, where Toyota describes the new model having a “sleek and stylish coupe design.” The headlights also appear to incorporate the company’s recent “hammerhead” design language.  

We’re guessing this new EV is probably the production version of the bZ Compact SUV Concept that Toyota unveiled at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, reportedly designed to slot underneath the existing bZ4X.

This concept car certainly boasts more than a passing resemblance to the second-generation Toyota C-HR. On the outside, it sports the same Toyota ‘hammerhead’ front end, a sporty coupe-like roofline, and door handles hidden in the C-pillar.

Inside, the bZ Compact SUV Concept is futuristic, with a yoke-style steering wheel and two curved displays—one for the driver and one for infotainment. The rest of the interior is minimalist, with almost no physical buttons. That’s because it has a new AI assistant named ‘Yui’ that responds to voice and touch commands.

We’re not too sure how much the concept’s interior will translate over to actual production, considering that it comes with curved OLED screens and a yoke steering. That said, the Toyota bZ4X was offered with a yoke steering in certain markets…
