Bentley is going fully electric with a new luxury EV SUV in 2026

Bentley, the luxury British car maker, has announced an extension to its Beyond100 plan, now called Beyond100+. The Crewe-based company revealed that the first fully electric (EV) Bentley will be a Luxury Urban SUV; due to be revealed in 2026. This groundbreaking model will be designed, developed, and produced at Bentley’s headquarters.

Alongside its first EV, Bentley also shared its plan to launch plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric vehicles (BEV) models every year over the next decade, in line with the company’s ambition to have an EV-only model lineup from 2035.

“Beyond100+ becomes our guiding light as we extend our ambitions beyond 2030, while maintaining our aim of a decarbonised future, including offering only fully electric cars from 2035, and reinforcing our credentials as the British creator of extraordinary cars for over a century and beyond,” said Bentley Motors Chairman and CEO, Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser.

To achieve this goal, Bentley has outlined a clear transition plan. The company has pledged to extend the lifecycle of PHEV models before becoming fully electric in 2035. In the meantime, the iconic W12 powertrain has been discontinued and replaced with the Ultra Performance plug-in V8 hybrid powertrain, which debuted in the fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT Speed.
