Launched just a month ago, BYD launched the M6 all-electric seven-seater MPV in Malaysia and since then, has received over 1,000 bookings.
This was revealed by Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, Southeast Asia, Jeffrey Gan, during the recent launch of the BYD Sealion 7 in Malaysia. The launch also makes Malaysia the first country within the region to get the all-new electric SUV.

Gan also noted that since BYD’s establishment in Malaysia two years ago, over 11,000 BYD vehicles have been registered, solidifying the Chinese carmaker’s position as the best-selling battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand in the country.
Starting at RM109,800 on-the-road without insurance, the BYD M6 is available in two variants, Standard and Extended.

BYD M6 Extended – RM123,800
Equipped with a 55.4 kWh battery, the BYD M6 Standard has a NEDC-rated range of 420 km. The Extended variant goes even further, boasting a 71.8 kWh battery and a range of 530 km (NEDC).
Two powertrain options are available, the Standard with a front-mounted electric motor delivering 163 hp (120 kW) and 310 Nm, and the Extended offering an upgraded motor producing 204 hp (150 kW).
As for the BYD’s latest available model, the BYD Sealion 7 is offered in two variants, Premium and Performance, with pricing starting at RM183,800 for the Premium variant and RM199,800 for the Performance variant on-the-road without insurance.
Both variants for the Sealion 7 come with a 82.5 kWh battery pack, and has a NEDC-rated range of 567 km (Premium) and 542 km (Performance) variants.
The Premium variant features a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 313 hp (230 kW) and 380 Nm for the rear wheels. The Performance variant meanwhile boasts a dual-motor all-wheel drive setup delivering a more potent 530 hp (390 kW) and 690 Nm.
