Shell Malaysia and Bonuslink unveils refreshed loyalty programme – up to 5x more points

Shell Malaysia and Bonuslink have announced a refreshed loyalty programme, offering users the opportunity to unlock tiers and earn rewards through the physical Bonuslink card or the Shell App, the latter also provides access to other exclusive benefits.

The programme consists of three upgradeable membership tiers, each unlocked by accumulating a certain number of BonusLink points. The range starts with the base “Member” tier, while “Silver” unlocks with 101-400 points. The second-highest tier is “Gold”, unlocked with 401-1,000 points, with the highest “Platinum” tier unlocked with 1,001 points.

Members earn BonusLink points at an accelerated rate based on their tier. For Shell FuelSave95, Shell V-Power 97, and Shell FuelSave Diesel, Silver members earn 1.5x points per litre of fuel, Gold members receive 2x points, and Platinum members earn 3x points per litre. If you fuel up with Shell V-Power Racing, though, it’s 5x points per litre across all tiers.

Bonuslink members on all tiers will also earn 5x BonusLink points at the Shell Select stores (with cumulative spend of RM30 minimum), and the ability to purchase an americano at Shell Cafe for RM5 by redeeming one BonusLink point. Furthermore, for even greater earning potential, the AmBank BonusLink credit card offers 10x points on eligible Shell purchases.

Additionally, the reward refresh period has been extended to two months, giving users more time to accumulate points and maximise their rewards.

“For years, loyalty programmes have been part of the brand-customer relationship, but at Shell, we’re focused on making sure our customers get tangible value every time they visit. Together with BonusLink, we’ve refreshed our rewards programme to benefit everyone, not just the big spenders. With each stop at Shell, your rewards multiply, made even more seamless through the Shell App,” said Seow Lee Ming, General Manager of Shell Malaysia.

“Since we launched Shell App in 2023, we’ve received tremendous feedback on how we can enhance the payment experience. We’re excited to soon roll out an upgraded Shell App, making it the preferred way to pay for fuel at Shell. This update reinforces our commitment to providing greater value to customers, ensuring that every ringgit spent delivers more benefits and a smoother, more rewarding experience,” she added.
