Shell launches “new and improved” FuelSave Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia, promises 19 km extra per tank

Following the launch of the “new and improved” Shell FuelSave Diesel in East Malaysia, Shell Malaysia has now brought its new blend of diesel fuel over to Peninsular Malaysia. The new fuel formulation will be available in Euro 5 B10 and B7 grades.

Shell claims that its new blend of diesel is its most fuel-efficient yet, delivering up to 19 km more per tank. This improvement is the result of over half a decade of extensive research and testing conducted by 120 scientists worldwide.

The number comes from its own in-house engine tests in comparison to an “industry standard reference fuel” based on a fuel tank size of 66 litres. In its tests, the new and improved Shell FuelSave Diesel offers up to 2% improvement in fuel mileage for light-duty trucks, and up to 3.75% for heavy-duty trucks.

Like its new Shell FuelSave 95 formulation, most of the savings are courtesy of a new double-action deposit-targeting additive that removes harmful deposits and protects the engine. The company claims that this new diesel fuel can remove up to 65% of harmful engine deposits and protects against future build-up.

Commenting on the launch, Shell Mobility Malaysia General Manager, Seow Lee Ming, said, “As Malaysians navigate changes like the rationalisation of the fuel subsidy, the New and Improved Shell FuelSave Diesel provides a practical solution, offering extended mileage to help drivers go further with every tank.”
