Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has just announced that the long-awaited Haval H6 HEV is now open for booking in Malaysia. The car is set to be introduced with the premium “Ultra” variant with an estimated price of below RM145,000 (OTR without insurance). The Haval H6 HEV will be a new contender in the C-segment SUV market.
As a C-segment contender, the Haval H6 HEV measures 4,683 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,724 mm tall. Its wheelbase measures 2,738 mm long, which is slightly longer than that of the Proton X70.
Previewed in Malaysia since Malaysia Autoshow 2022, the Haval H6 HEV sports a rather generic look of a Chinese SUV with a an aggressive set of headlights and a bold large grille that seems to take inspiration from some European brands. The most unique exterior feature on the Haval H6 HEV would probably be its third brake light which gets a quad light setup.
At the heart of the Haval H6 HEV, as its name suggests, is a full hybrid system (HEV) that comes with a unique Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The HEV powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 engine and the DHT and its system maximum output is rated at 243 hp and 500 Nm. According to Haval, DHT “is a highly integrated, high-efficiency, multi-mode petrol-electric hybrid system with dual-motor hybrid technology to achieve an all-speed and all-scenario perfect balance between high efficiency and high performance.”
Inside, the Haval H6 sports a black interior for the “Pro” variant and a light interior for the “Ultra” variant. Both have a 2-tone design, Featured on the inside of the Haval H6 HEV is a 12.3-inch central touchscreen head unit and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a wireless mobile phone charger.
